Fußnote zur Fußnote 48: Reims
View from the cathedral Notre-Dame de Reims 1919. The cathedral was rebuilt after the war and is since 1991 listed as UNESCO World Heritage. Much of the old town was rebuilt in art déco.
Reims is the obvious place to look for accommodation when the sites related to Jünger in the area are visited.
However, a visit of one of the many famous champagne companies' caves and tunnels ("crayeres"), which together form a many kilometre long maze below the city, is also memorable.
View from the small and rather cheap but ok Ardenn Hôtel, at the small quiet street Rue Caqué, no. 6, 51100 Reims.
