The white-and-red signed walk “GR5” (marked on the IGN maps) passing the Monument de la Croix des Carmes (see the old postcard) in Bois le Prêtre
(4 km east of Ernst Jünger's trenches at Regniéville 1917) is the French part (Sentiers de Grande Randonnée) of the 4.850 km European Long Distance Path E2 from Ireland to the Mediterranean. The European long-distance paths were designated by the European Ramblers' Association.
